When you’re looking to downsize or retire, selling your house can be a very stressful endeavor. However, if you’re selling in these zip codes, you’re in luck: Realtor.com just released its Hottest ZIP Code report, which reveals 2019’s most popular ZIP codes for home sales.

Millennials are moving into places that promise strong family potential and are less expensive than major metropolises.

According to the report, Grand Rapids, Michigan, contains the country’s hottest neighborhood — specifically, ZIP code 49505. The area’s four large parks and excellent school systems are a big draw, as millennials are moving into places that promise strong family potential and are less expensive than major metropolises.

Second is 68144, just south of Omaha, Nebraska. Homes in the area sell in 21 days on average, with a median listing price of $238,950 (up 6.2% from last year). As Realtor.com’s report mentioned, “Affordable housing and high-paying jobs at companies like Berkshire Hathaway, Union Pacific Railroad, and Werner Enterprises are attracting many ‘boomerang buyers’ back to the area after living in other, more expensive parts of the country.”

Millennials are likely to try their luck in exciting bigger cities, then move to places where they can settle into more space and have a richer quality of life.

Rounding out the rest of the list are ZIP codes in Boise, Idaho; Shawnee, Kansas; Rochester, New York; Livonia, Michigan; Melrose, Massachusetts; Arlington, Texas; Goffstown, New Hampshire; and Colorado Springs, Colorado.

As plenty of boomers migrate to sunnier climes, their houses and neighborhoods beckon millennials looking to settle down. If you’ve been waiting for the right sign to sell your house in one of these areas, this is probably it.
