Throughout the year, seemingly silly food “holidays” can mean the chance to snatch up free or discounted nibbles or drinks. On Saturday, January 19, National Popcorn Day offers up a fistful of salty and sweet deals. Here’s where to look:

Movie theaters

Where else would you expect to find a celebration of popcorn but at the movies? At Regal theaters, Crown Club members can enjoy half-price popcorn at any one of the chain’s 500-plus locations nationwide (sorry, Cheetos popcorn is excluded).

The New England and New York chain Showcase Cinemas is giving out free popcorn to members of its loyalty program on Saturday. Cinergy Cinemas in Texas is rewarding anyone who signs up for its loyalty program with free popcorn all weekend.

North of the border (it’s an international holiday!), the Canadian Cineplex chain is offering members of its loyalty program SCENE a free small popcorn.

Popcorn specialty stores

If your taste in popcorn runs toward the gourmet or unconventional, you can save at many local and online popcorn purveyors in honor of this special day.

For example, you can stop by Popcorn Heaven in Charlotte, N.C. for a free small popcorn with any purchase, or save 20% on online orders. At Chicago’s Garrett Popcorn, you can earn 20% off on all orders with the code GARRETT4ALL.

Doc Popcorn is offering 19% off in stores and for online orders all weekend—use the code NPD2019. Plus, you can stop by Doc Popcorn locations across the country for a free small bag of Better Butter.

You can enter for a chance to win free popcorn for the year from Popcornopolis. Cost Plus World Market is offering 25% popcorn at its nearly 300 stores through Saturday. And you can save 20% on popcorn tins from the Popcorn Factory using code POPCORN20.

Your community

Lots of National Popcorn Day celebrations are hyper-local—you can find free samples everywhere from a North Carolina RV park to the Westin Cincinnati. So keep an eye on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for promotions in your area.

If you’re near a Williams Sonoma store this weekend, check out their cooking technique class schedule. Fittingly, the Saturday, January 19 session is about popcorn. (There’s technique to popping it?)

For your $30 price of admission, you’ll get a collection of popcorn seasonings called “Sneakies” (they’re designed for you to sneak into movie theaters, an idea developed by Questlove of The Roots).

Mark your calendar: Wednesday, January 30 is National Croissant Day.
